Last night I was in the office working on "stuff" when I got a call from former Grandviewian, Kevin Bobrow. Kevin is the youth minister for Mountain Christian Church. The Mountain youth are in town for Milligan's CIY (Christ in Youth) conference and they were about to run out of work. Kevin wanted to know if we had anything to keep the young'ns busy.
Earlier in the day Anna and I went exploring in the woods behind our new house, where we found an old graveyard. It looks to me like the last people were buried in it circa 1929.Gene Nix and David Roberts to the rescue! David brought his chainsaw and cut down a couple of struggling trees. The youth dragged the remains to the road. Beth Smith gave me a nice list of things that could be done inside as well.
One of the youth sponsors was a young lady named Anastasia--her grandparents used to be members of Grandview and were the ones who gave the money for the first set of stained glass windows.Gene led the edging crew along University Parkway.

Woah! That graveyard is awesome. Dressing it up a bit without disrupting the natural surroundings and overgrowth would be a fun project. A nice devotional spot.
I have a thing for graveyards.
And a mysterious fort foundation? I hope you aren't made into a "based on true events" horror movie in 20 years. Oh...I really shouldn't have said that...
Wes,
You have a thing for graveyards? I have a thing for graveyards too . . . it's called MY BODY (hopefully that's a little ways off, though).
Yeah, it is a little morbid...but it probably has to do with my fascination with history and all things "passage of time". Check out www.findagrave.com. You may have a famous dead person near you! OK, "dead person" is an oxymoron, how about dead person's remains? Aaron's brittle, 40-year-old body is probably not listed on there.
