Preaching in Class (Round 2)

We're back in Wilmore and our preaching class with Dr. Kalas continues. Jim Martin preached his first sermon, an excellent bit of work on Proverbs 3. Jim has an easy going style (you may not be able to tell that from the pictures!)

Alicia came next. She is from one of the Texas conferences of the United Methodist Church (she moved here from Houston). Her sermon was wonderful, with a refrain about the "Jerichos" that might be in our lives. She has a genuine style and, like Jim, didn't spend a lot of time frowning. . . pictures tell the story.

Last, but not least, was Trav Wilson. Trav is from the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church. Wil Willimon is his bishop. His sermon wove together themes that are not easily wound together. He preached on Ruth's choice to embrace her mother-in-law's God and people. Trav's style is a little more formal, which means it's just as genuine as Jim and Alicia.
