A poem the doesn't apply to me . . . really . . . I'm serious . . . Why are you looking at me that way?

Dr. Kalas shared a poem with us last week and I've been meaning to pass it along. Nolan Donald made it easy for me by posting it on his blog first. Thanks, Nolan!

Enjoy.

Dilemma
by
David Budbill

I want to be
famous
so I can be
humble
about being
famous.

What good is my
humility
when I am
stuck
in this
obscurity?

I ran across "Dilemma" about this time last year--I think at dickstaub.com.

Recall sharing it with my group of mentees when we discussed Nouwen's assertion that Christian leaders have to become "irrelevant." I don't know if they appreciated the poem (or Nouwen, for that matter), but I did.

Theresa,
Those mentees should have listened to you . . . alas . . . they probably decided you were irrelevant!
