Whatzit?

On Saturday night we went with the Miller family to see Science Hill High School (Johnson City's high school) play Elizabethton High School in football--and to see Meghan in the band.

I'll post more on the weekend later (like how glad I am that my brother and his family came to visit). But I am so fascinated by the Science Hill Mascot that I wanted this video to have it's own blog entry.

You have to have seen the old SHHS building to know what a Hilltopper is. I will bring you a picture. I have been a 'Topper for 49 years and remember topping that hill. By the way, what is a Hoosier? And don't ask about a Hokie. ljc

Your mind is impressive. How many people do you think filmed the mascot at Science Hill? I bet you're the only YouTube video on that one. I would be curious of other quirky cool high school mascots. Can't say I remember mine from High school. We were the Fords. I'm not sure if that was a car or what

Lorna,
Thanks for the picture. I knew WHY they were called the Hilltoppers. What I don't much get is the top hat. As for what a Hoosier is? Well, a Hoosier is, IMHO, the same thing as a hilltoper. Maybe I will post on that some time.

Scott,
The best high school mascot that I remember from my days in Indiana is the Frankfort Hotdogs.
